Eisen voor reanimatie en EHBO voor kinderopvang
First Aid & CPR Alaska
Under Alaska Administrative Code 7 AAC 57.350, overseen by the Department of Health's Child Care Program Office, every caregiver in a licensed facility — not just one designated person — must hold valid pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR certification, and at least one certified caregiver must accompany children during specialized activities. Because much of Alaska is remote, distance learning is allowed only where no course is offered within sixty road miles, after which the caregiver must complete the first in-person course that becomes available. Small family homes must have current CPR and pediatric first aid in place before a license is issued.
Anafylaxie en medicatietoediening
Alaska's rules let a facility administer prescription medication only with written parental permission and according to the prescriber's directions, and they specifically include the use of an epinephrine auto-injector for a severe allergic reaction. Medications must be stored so unauthorized people cannot reach them, with controlled substances kept in a locked, permanently affixed container. A child with a known allergy should arrive with an auto-injector and a care plan so any caregiver can respond without hesitation.
In a severe allergic reaction or a sudden cardiac emergency, minutes decide the outcome, and in much of Alaska help may be far away — which makes the trained caregiver on site all the more vital. Certification steadies the whole team, earns the trust of families who leave their children in your care, and keeps every provider on the right side of the state's rule that all caregivers be certified. A recognized course blending online study with an in-person skills evaluation meets that requirement and travels well to remote communities.
