The first-aid requirement
Under 7 AAC 75, an assisted living home must always have a care provider on duty trained in CPR and first aid, and initial staff training must cover CPR and basic first aid. The on-duty caregiver must be able to intervene until emergency services arrive.
A recognized, up-to-date first-aid and CPR certificate is the way to meet this obligation; it is in addition to the staff's occupational training and must be renewed periodically.
